2008 Election Issues

    • develop a poster with pictures and a description of the current problem/issue
    • Use red (McCain) and blue (Obama) construction paper- outline their specific plans and thoughts on the matter
    • Groups will discuss the issue and decide which, if any, candidate they agree with. (be sure to track group discussion)
    • Groups will be presenting the issues , each candidates position, and groups position on Thursday.

Rules
  • Bring all books and materials to class.
  • Begin class on task; Stay on task.
  • Respond immediately to teacher’s signal for silence.
  • Listen to and follow instructions.
  • Show respect to teachers, adults, students, as well as for classroom equipment and       supplies. (Disruptive behavior violates this rule)

Consequences
  • Behavior
    • Students who continuously violate classroom rules will be issued a behavior detention to be served Thursdays at 7:30 a.m. in Rm. 213.
    • Responsibility Grade
    • Each student will start off with a 100% Responsibility Grade.
    • If you forget your homework in your locker or your notebook or text book ect., your grade will be docked 3 points each day you are unprepared.


      • You will be given one free pass a quarter when your grade will not be docked.

Homework Policy

  • Assignments not turned in by the end of class will be considered late and 15% will be subtracted from the homework grade.


  • If homework is not turned in the following day the student will receive a 0% for the assignment.


  • A homework detention will be given to students who receive three 0% within one quarter.
      • Homework detentions are to be served on Thursdays at 7:30 a.m. in Rm. 213.

Grading
  •  Grades are based on a percent.


  • Homework/Small Projects or Activities=    the grade will count once toward final grade (98%) *unless otherwise specified beforehand


  • Test/Quizzes=     the grade will count twice toward final grade  (98%, 98%)


  • Large Projects=  the grade will count three times toward final grade (98%,98%,98%)
