Movie Maker 2 Tips
  • Know the limits of your computer.


  • Once you save your project do not delete pictures or move them.


  • Easy on the transitions


  • When attempting a large project (20 minutes or more), make sure you save project quite often.


  • If computer becomes sluggish, save and then restart to clear memory.

Step 1, Capture Video Menu
  • Start out with importing
  • video and pictures


  • Even though audio is in
  • step 1, I like to save it for
  • last after I have done
  • transitions, titles and
  • Effects.




  • Do not forget to save project

Importing Pictures & Voideos

Select Items and import
  • I have selected all the pictures and clicked on import.

Collections
  • Notice how all the pictures have been imported into the collections.

Storyboard
  • Drag pictures to storyboard & arrange
  • Do not forget to save

Edit Movie Menu
  • Start out with Titles & Credits


  • Then do your transitions and effects.


  • Do not mix transitions & effects on the
  • same picture or video clip.

Titles and Credits
  • Click on make Titles & Credits.
  • Click on add title at beginning of movie.
  • As shown below you can edit text & effects.
  • Then click done & add title to movie.
  • Did you save your project?

Video Transitions
  • Click in Video Transitions.
  • Find the effect you want & drag in between the clips.
  • Remember not to overdo it they help to separate phases.
  • Did you save your project?

Video Effects
  • Click on Video Effects.
  • Drag the effect you want to the star on the clip you want.
  • The star will light up blue.
  • Did you save your project?

Go back to add audio
  • Take the songs you want to use over into a playlist on Windows Media Player.
  • Windows Media Player 11 works best.

Import Music
  • The Music will be in your music folder.
  • In this case it is in the unknown artist folder.
  • Click on import.

Move Audio into Timeline
  • The song is now in the collections.
  • Switch from Storyboard to Timeline.
  • Drag the Audio Clip down to the Audio/Music area.
  • Make sure to save before you start trimming clips.

Finish Movie
  • That was the easy part.
  • Now we have to take the movie over to Video.  I always take over to play on My Computer and then copy to CD or use a 3rd party program to take it to DVD. Click on finish Movie and then save to my computer.
  • Click on show more choices.


  • I prefer the 3 broadband settings.


  • Click Next and wait for save.


  • Now you can watch your movie.
